Print Article – The Rural Letter Carrier Volume 114, No. 8

This article was ghostwritten for Shirley Corno. The goal was to announce her retirement as the Director of the Rural Letter Carriers Vehicle Insurance Plan and introduce her replacement. In order to provide accurate information, I performed telephone interviews with both subjects.

Introducing New RLC Vehicle Insurance Plan Director Linda Foran
by Retiring Director of the Rural Letter Carriers Vehicle Insurance Plan Shirley Corno
As many of you are probably aware, I will be retiring soon from my position as Director of the Rural Letter Carriers Vehicle Insurance Plan with National General. I’ve spent most of my career dedicated to strengthening the relationship between the National Rural Letter
Carriers’ Association and National General, and I can’t wait to see our partnership continue for at least another 60 years. In the 27 years I’ve spent working with the NRLCA, I’ve attended 27 national conventions and had the pleasure of building long-lasting friendships with many of you. Members of the NRLCA are welcoming and hardworking people who love their craft and are passionate about their jobs. I will miss all of you immensely, but, fear not–I’m leaving you in great hands.

It is with great pleasure that I introduce the new Director of the Rural Letter Carriers Vehicle Insurance Plan, Linda Foran. Some of you already know Linda, as she has been working with me closely and has attended the last two national conventions. For those that have yet to meet her, let me share a little bit about what makes Linda a perfect fit for this role.

Originally from St. Louis, Linda began working with National General in 1991, excelling in multiple roles in the customer service, training and sales departments. Linda is an incredible resource with extensive knowledge about both National General and the NRLCA. She is more than just a marketing representative, as she’s been a licensed insurance agent for over 25 years. This means she has a deep understanding of the specific insurance needs of a rural letter carrier and can immediately answer any questions you have, so don’t be
afraid to reach out to her. She shares my passion for supporting National General’s oldest
partnership and is excited to begin her new role. After directly mentoring her for the past year, I am fully confident in her ability to continue my tradition of friendship and diligent service to the NRLCA.

Linda lives in Cleveland with her 11-year-old son, Jordan. Her adult daughter, Katie, still resides in St. Louis. Linda enjoys spending her free time practicing her golf game and road- and trail-running (and recently finished her first 5K). But, like most parents, free time is in short supply at the Foran house as her son plays on local golf, basketball, football, and lacrosse teams.

I will cherish our shared memories, but I look forward to the next chapter in my life. I hope
that in my absence all of you will make Linda feel as accepted as you made me feel.
